The Pottery Studio, which is fashioned after other community pottery studios, was established in 2005. Artworks established its Pottery Studio in conjunction with its three-fold mission to provide a place for artists to exhibit and sell their work; to provide a place for education and performance of the arts; and to provide a community center for the arts and cultural activities. |
POTTERY CLASSES
Pottery classes are offered in the Studio through Artworks’ Arts and Leisure Class Program.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Participation in the Artworks Pottery Studio requires purchase of a subscription. Subscribers are entitled to use of the equipment (wheels, kiln), glazing areas and glaze, and hand-building areas. The cost of clay, glaze, one bisque and one glaze firing is determined by the weight of each finished piece. Members may order their own glaze and tools through Artworks.
The Studio is open and available to subscribers during the normal operating hours of the Gallery and by appointment after hours.
We ask subscribers to participate in clay recycling, to bring their own aprons and towels, and to provide their own tools or rent a tool kit. Other student and subscriber responsibilities are described in the Pottery Studio Handbook.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by a parent, and no child under 16 may hold a subscription.
