Winter Spring 2010 Class Schedule and Brochure

Our renovation is complete and we are pleased to announce that we will now be offering classes here at our own facility. We want to thank the many businesses through out the community who have supported us through construction: Natural Beauty Salon and Spa, The Old Jail, Lake Osceola Bank, Big Rapids Middle School, Pepper's Cafe, Chemical Bank, 5/3rd Bank, The Frame Factor, Patterson's Flowers and the Bergelin House.

The renovated Artworks building with the new elevator allows access to all levels of the Artworks building including the gift shop, classrooms, dance studios, kitchenette, offices, art incubator studios and restrooms.

You will be astounded at the talent which continues to surprise us in shows such as this one which showcases the work of local artists.

April and May: Deadly Voyage: The S,S. Daniel J. Morrell Tragedy, by Andy Kantar, has been selected by a committee of librarians as the feature book for this spring's, 2010, One Book, One County library celebration in Mecosta County. The event is being sponsored by the Michigan Humanities Council, ArtWorks of Big Rapids, Big Rapids Public Library, Tamarack District Library of Lakeview, and Morton Township Library of Mecosta. Lectures and book signings featuring Kantar and Dennis Hale, sole survivor of the S.S. Daniel J. Morrell, have been scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2010, 7:00 at the Big Rapids High School Auditorium; Thursday, May 6, 7:00 at the Tamarack District Library in Lakeview (Montcalm County); and Saturday, May 8, 10 a.m. at the Morton Township Library. May: Artworks GALA Displays
HATS OFF TO BIG RAPIDS! Items of many kinds which have been donated by local artists, merchants, and Lovers of the arts will be on display at Artworks until the Gala at the Holiday Inn on May 21st.

June 5 and 6, 2010: Clay, Art and Fire', Presenting a Live Pottery and Raku Experience
Pottery and Raku workshops will be held in the Artworks pottery studio as well as in the parking lot in front of Big Rapids Furniture. These are hands-on learn from each other experiences. For additional information visit the Clay, Art and Fire Web page.
