ARTWORKS GALLERY PROCEDURES

Updated July 24, 2007

EXHIBIT PROCEDURES

All members are encouraged to display their art in the various scheduled exhibits throughout the year.

Any two-dimensional work submitted to the gallery for an exhibit that does not have appropriate wire for display will be rejected. This is in the interest of protecting the work. Work improperly hung is much more likely to be at risk of being damaged. Saw tooth hangers will not be allowed.

When entering TWO-DIMENSIONAL work into exhibit, attach the exhibit form on the front of the picture frame with a small piece of tape where it can be removed easily. This will be temporary and used to match up the title cards with the work on display. Use a WHITE sticker for price info on the back. This will remain there for the length of the exhibit in case questions should arise about which item it is, artist number, and price. Place the letter “E” (to designate it as an exhibit item) in front of the item number.

When entering THREE-DIMENSIONAL work into exhibit, attach or place the exhibit form on the item where it can be seen by the hanging committee and where it can be removed easily. This will be temporary and used to match up the title cards with the work on display. Use a WHITE sticker of price info on the bottom or other appropriate area of your piece where it will remain throughout the length of the exhibit to be used for reference if questions should arise about price, your artist number or item number. Be sure to place the letter “E” (meaning exhibit item) in front of the item number.

An exhibit fee of $3.00 per exhibit (not per item) will be charged to help defray costs. This applies to exhibits only.

When dropping off work in the gallery for display in an EXHIBIT, fill out an inventory sheet, have it signed by the gallery worker, pay your $3 exhibit fee, and take your items to the drop off area.

All works for sale in an exhibit must be offered at the price on the entry form . Prices should include the appropriate Artworks commission for members. There is a 30% commission fee on sales by non-members who have paid their $35 jury fee (This fee applies to one exhibit only.).

Each member artist submitting two-dimensional work to any exhibit will be allowed up to 3 framed pieces per show. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Gallery Director.
