Mosaic Artist Patricia A. Terpstra - "Mosaic Expressions"

In my journey as an artist I find my inspiration in various factors. Mother Earth is the key. The five elements Earth, Water, Wood, Metal and Fire. Because these elements are always evolving, my work does the same.

I enjoy experimenting with Mosaic's, creating new and exciting ways of using glass, china, buttons, metal objects, beads and more. I lean towards Modernism, Impressionism, Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Oriental, Frank Lloyd Wright's style and creating a one of a kind piece. Before I begin a project I study the shape and style of the object. I then close my eyes and let my imagination explore the design, the placement, colors and how I want the project to look when finished.

Paul Gauguin said it best for me "I shut my eyes in order to see"
